  • 9th Grade Geography: Exploring the Nations of the World (32-Week Course)

In this immersive 9th-grade geography course, students will embark on an exciting journey across the globe, discovering the diverse nations, cultures, and landscapes that make up our world. Through both interactive learning and hands-on activities, students will explore the unique geography of different regions while gaining a deeper appreciation for the rich cultures that thrive there.

Drawing from over 10 years of international experience, I aim to instill a love for the nations and encourage students to embrace the world beyond their own society. We will dive into the geographical features, historical context, and cultural practices that shape the world we live in, helping students see the planet as a dynamic, interconnected place.

This course will include engaging activities like tasting foods from different regions, which will allow students to experience the flavors and traditions of various countries, enhancing their understanding of each culture. Students will learn how geography influences everything from food to language, architecture, and daily life.

By the end of this 32-week course, students will have explored the geography and cultures of many nations, and developed a global perspective that will not only fulfill the California 9th-grade history requirements but also inspire a lifelong curiosity and respect for the world beyond their own borders.

  • 10th Grade World History: Exploring Our Past to Build a Better Future (32-Week Course)

In this thought-provoking 10th-grade World History course, students will journey through the history of humanity, from the dawn of civilization to the complexities of modern-day society. We will explore the key events, figures, and movements that have shaped the world we live in, uncovering the stories of our past to better understand the present and guide us toward a more informed and positive future.

History isn't always easy to confront, but it is essential to know where we come from in order to build a better tomorrow. Through this class, students will analyze the rise and fall of empires, the development of cultures and societies, and the pivotal events that have impacted global history. By examining both the triumphs and the tragedies of the past, students will develop a deeper understanding of how historical forces continue to influence our world today.

This course will fulfill the California 10th-grade history requirements and encourage students to critically engage with the past, reflect on its lessons, and consider how we can apply that knowledge to create a more compassionate and just future.

  • 11th Grade American History: The Tapestry of a Nation (32-Week Course)

In this dynamic 11th-grade American History class, students will explore the fascinating and often complex journey of the United States, from its foundations to its current place in the world. This course will examine both the triumphs and heartbreaks that have shaped this nation, encouraging students to understand the ideals of hope, freedom, and progress that our forefathers envisioned, as well as the struggles that have tested those ideals over time.

We’ll delve into the history of the United States, examining how the country’s diverse history and cultures came together to form what is often called a "melting pot"—though perhaps better described as a rich, intricate tapestry of people, ideas, and movements. From the birth of the nation to the challenges faced in achieving its democratic ideals, this course will give students a deeper understanding of what makes America unique.

Through critical exploration, this class will encourage students to reflect on the beauty and the heartbreak of our nation’s story, fostering a sense of pride in our accomplishments while also confronting the difficulties that have shaped who we are today.

This course will fulfill the California 11th-grade history requirements, providing students with a thorough understanding of American history, its foundations, and the ongoing journey to live up to the ideals set forth by the nation's founders.

  • 12th Grade Government & Economics/Civics: Understanding Our Government and Building Financial Futures (32-Week Course)

In this engaging 12th-grade Government & Economics/Civics course, students will gain an in-depth understanding of how our government operates, the powers it holds, and how we, as citizens, navigate and influence its framework. From the Constitution to the roles of local, state, and federal institutions, students will explore the inner workings of American democracy and the importance of civic engagement.

In addition to government, this course will provide a hands-on, practical approach to Economics. Students will learn the fundamentals of economics, including supply and demand, budgeting, and economic decision-making. We’ll also explore the Stock Market, giving students the opportunity to understand how it works, the basics of investing, and how to track and make informed decisions about financial markets.

But we won’t stop there—this class will also encourage students to stretch their entrepreneurial muscles. We’ll explore ways to create passive income, teaching students how to think creatively about their financial futures and how to start building wealth early. Through real-world applications and activities, students will leave the course with a strong understanding of both government and economics, equipped with practical skills that can be applied to their personal and professional lives.

This course will fulfill the California 12th-grade Government & Economics/Civics requirements, ensuring that students are well-prepared to understand and participate in the political and economic systems that shape their world.

  • Culinary Arts: Pie Making, Baking, and Cooking Techniques (Grades 5-12)

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the delicious world of cooking and baking! This hands-on culinary class is designed for students in grades 5-12 and will teach you a variety of skills, from perfecting a flaky pie crust to creating mouthwatering pie fillings. You’ll learn how to bake both classic pies and explore unique flavor combinations, giving you the skills to impress friends and family with your homemade treats.

But that’s just the start! You’ll also master the art of baking different kinds of bread like cinnamon rolls, sourdough, focaccia, challah, cornbread, and even make your own crackers from scratch. Plus, you'll learn how to bake a variety of cookies, from chewy chocolate chip to classic sugar cookies, and everything in between!

Along the way, you'll discover how to preserve fresh fruits and vegetables by canning, so you can enjoy the tastes of each season all year long.

In addition to baking, you'll learn basic cooking techniques that are key to every kitchen—how to chop, sauté, boil, and grill like a pro. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from making a hearty chili, a comforting soup, or a flavorful stew, and explore endless flavor possibilities!

Whether you’re a beginner or have some kitchen experience, this class will help you build a solid foundation in both baking and cooking, setting you up to make a variety of delicious dishes at home.

  • Sewing and Needlepoint Basics (Grades 5-12)

In this hands-on class, students in grades 5-12 will learn the fundamentals of sewing and needlepoint, gaining practical skills they can use to create personalized and stylish pieces. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your sewing abilities, this class will give you the foundation to get creative with fabric and thread!

You’ll start by learning basic hand stitches, including the running stitch and other essential techniques that will help you build your confidence in sewing. Students will also learn how to read and use sewing patterns, allowing them to create a set of their very own custom-made pajamas—perfect for cozy nights or as a fun gift!

In addition to sewing, students will explore the world of embroidery, where they’ll get the chance to monogram their own creations, adding a personal touch to their projects. You’ll also learn simple needlepoint techniques, providing you with the skills to make beautiful, textured designs on fabric.

This class is perfect for those looking to discover a new creative hobby, develop sewing skills, or personalize their wardrobe with handmade items. By the end of the course, you'll have the knowledge and confidence to continue exploring the world of sewing and needlework on your own!

  • Creative Arts & Crafting (Grades 3-12)

In this exciting and hands-on class, students in grades 3-12 will explore a variety of creative arts and crafts, from jewelry making to crocheting and knitting, as well as candle making. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some crafting experience, this class will help you develop your skills and create beautiful, handmade items.

Jewelry Making: You’ll learn the fundamentals of jewelry design, working with materials like beads, wire, and charms to create custom bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and more. Whether you're designing a personal piece for yourself or a thoughtful gift for someone else, you'll explore different techniques to craft unique jewelry.

Candle Making: Learn the art of candle making by choosing the right wax, fragrance, and colors. Students will create their own custom candles, experimenting with shapes and sizes, and adding their personal touch to make candles that are perfect for home décor or gifting.

Crocheting & Knitting Basics: You’ll also have the option to dive into the world of crocheting or knitting. If you choose crocheting, you’ll master the basic stitches to create a classic granny square, which you’ll turn into a cozy baby blanket or scarf. If you prefer knitting, you’ll learn to knit a stylish scarf or practical potholder. In addition, you’ll have the chance to make thoughtful items like crocheted baby booties or fun knit play food for a kitchen set.

This class offers a fun and creative environment where you can experiment with different crafts and build your skills in jewelry making, candle making, crocheting, and knitting. By the end of the course, you’ll have a collection of handmade items, from beautiful jewelry to cozy knitted pieces and custom candles, as well as the confidence to continue crafting at home.

  • Fine Arts (Grades 3-12)

In this engaging class, students in grades 3-12 will dive into the world of fine arts, exploring their creativity while learning about the techniques and history behind some of the most famous artists and movements. Whether you’re a beginner or have some artistic experience, this class will help you build a strong foundation in both artistic skills and art history.

Students will focus on three exciting mediums: watercolor, pastels, and charcoal. You’ll master techniques such as blending pastels, creating stunning watercolor washes, and using charcoal to add depth and dimension to your drawings. Alongside developing these practical skills, you’ll also learn about the great masters of art history. From Van Gogh’s expressive use of color to the soft, delicate touches of Monet’s watercolors, students will explore the styles and techniques of these iconic artists.

Throughout the course, we’ll model some of our projects after the masters, using their work as inspiration while adding your own creative touch. By the end of the course, you’ll have a portfolio of your own creations, along with a deeper understanding of art history, and the skills to continue experimenting with watercolor, pastels, and charcoal at home.

We foster creativity and practical knowledge that students can apply in their daily lives. By blending traditional techniques with modern approaches, we encourage students to explore diverse forms of self-expression while emphasizing the importance of health, wellness, and sustainable living.​ Through hands-on learning, we inspire students to cultivate their talents and become confident, resourceful individuals.
